The Experience

The South Downs National Park reaches as far as the eye can see and all you will hear is birdsong. Indoors is warm and cosy with underfloor heating plus a wide open fire: wooden beams and ancient brickwork show off 1700s roots, but you also have lights and blinds that are touch sensitive and surround sound speakers to keep you company in the beautifully-equipped kitchen.

Annabel – who will greet you – leaves a welcome hamper including breakfast things with local bread, butter and eggs plus a bottle of wine. The dining table is large but double glass doors will take you to your own private terrace with a barbecue and pretty garden for outdoor meals on sunny days. The village is a ten-minute walk for a surprisingly well stocked shop and a choice of pubs.

Hire bikes and cycle from here, join walking paths for glorious hikes over the Downs, visit Petworth (15 minutes) for antique hunting, the house and park and good food in the café. Goodwood is a 20-minute drive.

Reviews

This absolutely lovely barn conversion has been beautifully done with original beams everywhere while remaining light and airy. The house is modern and the spaces brilliantly used - having everything the visitor could possibly want. For summer, the outside garden with colourful flowers is gorgeous and plenty of space to eat and have parties with BBQ laid on.

Fiona, Sawday's inspector

The location and high quality spec of the interior of the barn conversion is fantastic. The owners have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay warm, welcoming and relaxing. The attention to detail really is amazing and it made for a perfect weekend. We would highly recommend it.
