A pint's throw from the Royal Crescent, The Tav is one of Bath's best food pubs, loved by locals and visitors alike. The 18th-century interiors tick all the boxes with sage green paintwork, feature wallpapers, polished boards and smartly snug corners. Wines include a fashionable palette of rosés, perfect for sipping in the lovely walled courtyard garden. As for the food, it is driven by the produce: seasonal and local are the buzzwords with producers and provenance listed. There's Chew Valley smoked salmon, 'Ruby Red' beef from Devon, and Somerset lamb. The freshest of fish arrives daily from Cornwall and Devon. Our vegan set menu was outstanding: homemade shitake mushroom hash brown and cauliflower steak followed by tofu and chocolate ice cream with banana bread. Sunday lunches are the stuff of legend, and booking is pretty much essential.

Guest feedback
"Enjoy fine dining in a relaxed, welcoming and cosy pub setting- the vegan menu was phenomenal, as I'm sure were all of the other meat and fish dishes. Excellent presentation and fantastic flavours! Staff are friendly, and there is a great beer garden to one side facing the golf course and find a great selection of ales and spirits. Book ahead for their popular Sunday roast.."
