Mussel and saffron soup, rib of Welsh beef with hand-cut chips, cherry soufflé with pistachio ice-cream... Seriously good dining here

Read guest comments

This fabulous restaurant has a bit of everything: cool rooms that pack a designer punch, super food in a sparkling restaurant, a cellar bar for drinks before dinner, a fabulous garden for summer treats. It's a very friendly place with charming staff on hand to help, and it draws in a local crowd who come for the seriously good food, perhaps mussel and saffron soup, rib of Welsh beef with hand-cut chips, cherry soufflé with pistachio ice cream. You eat in style with a fire burning at one end of the restaurant and good art hanging on the walls. Best of all is the back garden with a mountain-fed stream pouring past. In summer, a café/bistro opens up out here – coffee and cake or steak and chips – with doors that open onto the garden. Don't miss Pembrokeshire's fabulous coastal path for its windswept cliffs, sandy beaches and secluded coves.

"A really lovely place to stay. Relaxed, friendly staff, stylish and imaginative decor and some of the best food I've eaten anywhere. Llys Meddyg means 'the doctor's house' and I can honestly say our stay was a tonic."

"We have just returned from 4 night stay at Llys Meddyg; its fabulous! The staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful, Ed and Louise interested hosts who wanted to make everything enjoyable. Our room was contemporary and well fitted out, the bathroom a delight. Fluffy towels and lovely bathroom products.. all important after a long walk on the coastal path! Dinner was fabulous; tasty and beautifully presented. Breakfast was a struggle to eat after such a good dinner, but delicious too. Our dog was made welcome despite the rooms being so well appointed. HIghly recommended!"
