A magical setting for this neat little inn. Spot waders by day, dine by candlelight at night, on mussels and oysters and top blades of beef

The setting is magical. Fabulous views reach across the marshes and the boat-bobbed water; dinghies sail on the evening high tide. The coastal path starts right outside this neat inn and the garden provides the perfect spot for a post-stroll pint. Inside the fishy theme continues, in a modern, crisp way: seascape colours, natural materials, pictures of boats, bowls of pebbles and shells, and big windows for the views. A perfect place for bird-spotting, especially geese in winter – bring the binoculars. Later, dine by candlelight on mussels and oysters, mullet with bean, chorizo and tomato ragout, blade of beef with thyme jus; all of it as local and seasonal as possible and served with a great big smile. Huge sunsets, great food, and a welcome for children and dogs.
