A traditional and stylish pub with a garden - you may meet a peacock or a chicken - and a lake with quacking ducks. This is a grand spot on a summer day to sup a local ale and take a look at the menu. Good food, beautifully cooked and nothing too fussy is the order of the day and it is all served by a highly efficient team of friendly staff. It's superb for walkers who can hike through rugged scenery with waterfalls and ponies then drop down here for posh pub grub (fish and chips etc) but with fusion dishes thrown in and exceedingly good steaks. Trendy Totnes is 20 minutes in the car for shops, restaurants, good delis and pubs. Beaches are near.

  • Turtley is set in plenty of grounds for you to enjoy complete with its resident free-roaming chickens, peacocks and guinea fowl. Enjoy a stroll around the small lake and along the river which borders our site - perfect for walking off lunch.
  • Our giant chess set is a real feature of the garden, with many a closely fought game taking place throughout the year!
  • Our entire menu is produced in-house by our team of chefs, with the exception of ice cream and bread. Fresh, locally sourced produce, including fish from Plymouth fish market, is delivered daily ensuring we work with the very best ingredients.

Guest feedback
"We rocked up hoping to get a table for dinner, Lucky Us, charming bartender said he was hopeful, found us a lovely table, the only one free. A delightful meal ... charming service and what more could one ask for on a cold Saturday night."
