The Horseshoes at Long Lane Village - Pub in Derbyshire
Long Lane,
Long Lane Village, Ashbourne, DE6 5BJ, Derbyshire
England,
United Kingdom

Between Derby and Buxton, the Horseshoes sits in a pretty spot in a village that's lapping up its new local, spoilt rotten by monthly taster menus and year-round local food that hits the spot. Berkeley Inns is making a habit of rescuing and re-developing old inns in Derbyshire, always with an emphasis on the authentic. Step inside to a warm welcome and a sparking bar (over 100 gins, with local craft producers on show), a double-facing woodburner, cosy corners and a cool modern space for private dining. Food is king here, so work up an appetite in the surrounding hills and feast on the likes of Pan Fried Scallops with black pudding, chorizo, samphire with a chive cream sauce, followed by Hardwick Hall Rump of Lamb with wholegrain mustard mash, bacon, peas and onions in a cream sauce. Leave room for the famous Horseshoes cheese board, or sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream and salted caramel sauce.. French windows open onto an attractive garden (with garden rooms) at the back.
