The Greyhound At Cromford - Pub in Derbyshire
Market Place, Cromford, DE4 3QE, Derbyshire
England,
United Kingdom

Paul and Tina run a happy ship. After working in hospitality for years and running a restaurant in Derby they set about bringing this listed building back to life. The refurbishment unearthed some interesting pieces now on display including a stained-glass window replete with greyhound gazing benignly on visitors. Built by Sir Richard Arkwright, a leading entrepreneur of the Industrial Revolution, the pub buzzes with local diners, groups of walkers, families... Unbend in front of the log fire on deep Chesterfield sofas, eat in the waterside room with views over a small patio to the weir. Lunch and dinner is served daily with a focus on locally sourced meat, veg and cheese. The chef's signature dish is pie, made from scratch with suet pastry, and changes with the seasons - steak and ale when we visited. The wine list and ale choices are excellent.
