A warm and welcoming family-run pub on the village green with good food prepared from local produce - and excellent, well-priced wine

Baslow is an attractive village with thatched cottages, a gurgling stream and the path that takes walkers to Chatsworth House. You'll feel happy - and well cared for -  as you pass through glass doors to the stone flagged entrance and the long softly-lit bar, its wood-burner belting out the heat on chilly days. Locals and out-of-towners gather here to drink real ale (Black Sheep Chatsworth Gold and Stancil Stainless ) and eat food prepared from great ingredients with style and originality. Wine aficionado will be delighted with the choice of good wines by the glass. Veggie options are imaginative and tasty, Sunday lunch is popular so book ahead and you can sit outdoors on warm days. You're surrounded by the vast Peak District so head on out for challenging walking and cycling in God's own country - and bring your dog.
