The Newbury - Pub in Berkshire
137 Bartholomew Street, Newbury, RG14 5HB, Berkshire
England,
United Kingdom

Formerly the Bricklayers Arms, this Grade II listed gastropub was transformed by Pete Lumber and is winning awards for its food. It's a lively, laid-back and super-stylish venue with vibrant colours, horse racing artwork, leather sofas for pints of Otter, and candles on sparkling wood tables. The roof terrace has its own bar, and is a summer sun trap where guests enjoy cocktails and pizza (fresh from the pizza oven). Whether you've come for one of their express lunches, or a huge family celebration, you're in for a treat. The British menu comes with a twist - try a burger with chorizo and jalapeño jam, rocket and Ogleshield cheese - and the wine list is extensive. Settle in for a super Sunday roast, take a tour of the distillery, try proper bar snacks (crispy pork belly with sweet chilli, sausage rolls), or a decadent cocktail party.
