Sip cocktails on the canal-side terrace, or warm up by a log-burner with a pie and a pint. The towpath will take you all the way into Bath

Watch the canal boats putter up this leafy stretch of water, or settle into a comfy corner with the papers and a brunch fit for champions ... The Bath Pub Company have played a blinder with this latest addition to their burgeoning group of classy gastropubs. Come in off the canal path via the stylish terrace, or through the front door to the bar where smiling staff will serve you local ales, ciders, smoothies or coffee while you tackle the task of choosing from the seasonal menu - splendid salads, posh burgers and hearty main courses buzzing with flavour - you'll be spoilt for choice. Add a fantastic Sunday roast and you're all set for a memorable visit. Oak floors, a long dining room glowing with light, snug corners, wood-burners and wonderful photographs that tell the history of Bath. A gem.
